REGULAR MEETING OF THE

PANAMA CITY DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT BOARD

Wednesday, July 6, 2022

Panama City Center for the Arts

1.    Call to order Present- Catherine Shores, Allan Branch, Michael Higdon, Brent McLeod

Absent – Pam Armstrong, Jennifer Burg, Elizabeth Moore

2.   Chairman’s report – Catherine reported decorating for Fourth of July in Gateway and Breezeway, Also had sprinkler system repairs

3.  Approval of minutes – June 1, 2022 meeting-Allan makes motion, seconded by Michael, all approve.

4.  Public Participation – public invited to speak about anything not already on the agenda,

5.  Financial Update – Bank account balances Catherine reports savings $275,630., Checking $4,388.

6.  Old Business –

a.         Skate Park shade sails- no update

b.         Breezeway Improvements (green space, furniture, palm trees)-Lena has ordered tables and umbrellas for less than $6,000.  And will pay for from CRA funds. 

c.         Park Ave street Mural -no update

7.  New Business-

      a.         Rebecca Snow organizing Play Music n the Front Porch Day – Rebecca Snow asked for $1,500. To support the event scheduled for 8/24/22, 2-4 pm.  After discussion Michael made motion to approve, Allan seconded, motion passed after Brent changed his no vote to a yes.  During discussion the issue was raised about the board not having a policy or form for these type of grant requests. 

10.  Reminders / Calls to Action

                  a.  Next workshop meeting will be Wednesday July 20, 2022 location TBD

                  b.  Next Regular meeting will be Wednesday August 3,2022, 8:30 am Center for the Arts

11.  Adjournment
