SPECIAL MEETING OF THE

PANAMA CITY DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENT BOARD

Friday, July 26th, 2024 @ 9:00 AM

Panama City Center for the Arts

1.      Call to Order at 9 AM Present: Chair Catherine Shores, Allan Branch, Catherine McCloy, Lesli Todd, and Shawntell World  Absent: Jake Sostheim

2.      Approval of Minutes from July 3rd, 2024 – Allan made a motion to accept. Lesli 2nd. All Approved

a.      Hiring an additional employee – Allan made a motion to offer the position to Lucien Escoffery at the rate of $22 per hour for up to 40 hours.  Funds will be taken from Other Services line item.  Lesli 2nd.  All Approved. 

6.      Chairman’s Report – Catherine reminded the board of their term ending dates and shared that the commission has a new policy in place to interview all applicants before appointing someone.  We currently have one position open, and Catherine’s term is up in Aug. but hopes to remain on the board.

7.      Administrative Update- Maria shared that she had learned a lot from attending the POM 24 conference in Tallahassee and spending time with the Pensacola DIB.  The date was set for the requested Strategic Vision meeting of Aug. 21st from 8 AM – 12 PM at The Center For the Arts.  At the next DIB meeting, Maria would like to have Chair, Vice Chair, and Treasurer positions assigned to board members.
